Mission

The National Coalition for the Advancement of Natives in Higher Education (NCANHE) is organized exclusively for educational research and charitable purposes, under the National Indian Education Association, per their interest in developing a stronger and more active presence in higher education, by informing, strengthening and enhancing the higher education American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian student experience.

Vision

The National Coalition for the Advancement of Natives in Higher Education is organized to: create, identify, promote, codify, recommend and advocate for standards of practice, policy and research within the higher education community that support and further the academic and professional success of Native students.

  1. Tribal Colleges are much needed and very effective, but….they do not serve urban area multi-tribal communities where most American Indian students attend college. I believe we must work to make all institutions of higher learning supportive of all Native students.
